Connie Goodall

Beloved mother, Connie, 73, went to be with the Lord on June 21, 2010. This is a photo of Connie and Carol, before our wedding on September 15, 1989. It is one of my favorite "wedding" pictures, and I couldn't have asked for a better mother-in-law. Connie was always vivacious, and accepting of any and all that come to her house. We had many times of laughter, and I sometimes shared "mother-in-law" jokes with her. I remember when we were first married, Connie said to me, "If Carol's not nice to you, let me know!" I thought this to be quite funny. I know that we all will be missing Connie for the rest of our lives, but look forward to seeing her again in heaven when the time comes.

Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts went to be with the Lord on December 15 at the age of 91. I first saw Oral Roberts with my parents at a crusade in London, England back in 1969, when I was only 10 years old. It was from this time that I had the desire to attend ORU, and there was much that his ministry imparted to us over the years. Though my parents did not have the money to send me to ORU, by the time I turned college age, God miraculously provided a full scholarship through the university to attend for four years. Looking back on that experience, where I began my training in media, and learned so much in many areas of life, I want to express my gratitude for the ministry of Oral Roberts and all that he imparted and inspired to many around the world. Carol said to me, "He must have finished all that God had for him." My response was, "It's now up to his students, to carry on."

This was the mandate that Oral Roberts received from the Lord: "Raise up your students to hear My voice, to go where My light is seen dim, My voice is heard small, and My healing power is not known, even to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Their work will exceed yours, and in this I am well pleased."

Herb Eggar

Herb Eggar went to be with the Lord, 26th of November at the age of 85. He and his wife Evelyn were the pioneers of the Elijah House ministry in Japan. Evelyn was a single missionary in Japan for almost 50 years before marrying Herb, who actually was her sweetheart when they were growing up in the U.S. It was through the ministry of Elijah House and the teachings of John Sandford that Evelyn testifies of being healed of issues in her heart that had hindered her from accepting Herb's marriage proposal some 50 years previously. But through a series of divine appointments the two were happily married in Japan in 1997, and spent the remainder of their time in Japan until 2007 to introduce the Elijah House ministry to the Japanese people. I was privileged to get to know the Eggars, and worked with them in producing many of the videos that are now being used all over Japan for the Elijah House schools in Japanese. I was always amazed at their energy and drive, and determination to get Elijah House Japan established and handed over to Japanese leadership. Evelyn resides in Charlotte, N.C.
